Sultane des Ibis a small 1.60m chestnut mare, by Quidam de Revel<\/em> and Orlane des Ibis<\/em> by Elan de la Cour<\/em> was born in 2006 at Mr and Mrs Djindjian\u2019s, of the Ibis breeding farm at Le Vesinet in the Yvelines.
Sultane started under Fran\u00e7ois-Xavier Boudant<\/a>\u2019s saddle, with whom she competed in the Criterium and 6YO Young Horse Championships. She then moved on to work with P\u00e9n\u00e9lope Lepr\u00e9vost<\/a>, Lucie Saliba<\/a>, and more recently she spent time with Tony Hanquinquant<\/a>. At the end of 2017 Genevi\u00e8ve M\u00e9gret, Sultane\u2019s owner, entrusted her with F\u00e9licie Bertrand<\/a> her current rider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tacante had the honour of meeting the breathtaking Sultane, who graciously answered our questions through her rider F\u00e9licie Bertrand!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where does your name come from?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well there! I haven\u2019t got the slightest idea. But it was premonitory as I am a true princess!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do you live? Can you describe your stables?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I live at the Haras de Clarbec<\/a> which is 5mn away from Pont l\u2019Ev\u00eaque in Normandy. It is a beautiful place with amazing paddocks where I get to spend a lot of time \u2013 whole mornings even!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you get on with your stable mates?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t pay any attention to my neighbours when I am indoors at home. However, when I am away competing I need to feel that my BFF Vahine is close by. As soon as she walks away, I get anxious and I start neighing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you like most about your rider?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00e9licie gives me free rein, and I love that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your best attributes?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have so many I can\u2019t choose! I\u2019d say that I owe my records to my bravery, my determination and that I always want to do well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the worst mischief you got into?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I\u2019m at home I don\u2019t like to work! I find it sooooo boring!
Mischief you said? I don\u2019t even know what that means! Remember, I am a princess! Anyhow, whatever I do I am immediately forgiven!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have passing fancies?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I never have passing fancies! I like to get cuddles when I am in my stall, but the right dose! When I\u2019ve had enough, I let it know! When I say stop, I mean stop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favourite colour?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navy blue<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which dream would you like to come true in your life?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For F\u00e9licie to ride me for much much longer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favourite activity?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have 2 favourite activities: compete and spend time in the paddock! I\u2019m entitled to a good time after so much effort! Aren\u2019t I?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes you feel the happiest?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compete, spend time in the paddock and all the sweets and little treats I am given all day long! But I stay slim <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you dislike most in the world?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be disturbed when I want to be left alone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your best memory?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our victory with F\u00e9licie in the Bordeaux Land Rover Grand Prix<\/a> in 2019!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which frame of mind are you in at the moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am not competing much at the moment so I am getting impatient! I am looking forward to stepping back in competition arenas!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have a life motto you would like to share with us?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
