How to clean your Tacante INFI-KNIT exercise bandages

You are training in a wet arena and sand has accumulated? Have a look at our short video on how to clean your TACANTE INFI-KNIT exercise bandages!

Here are the steps to follow to clean your INFI-KNIT bandages

  1. Assess the state of your Tacante exercise bandages after they’ve been used a few times. It is time for a wash!
  2. Prepare your cleaning equipment: latex glove, a rubber brush with soft bristles, and washing powder with an eco-label if possible.
  3. Shake the INFI-KNIT bandages to remove horses’ hair and sand.
  4. Remove with the latex glove on the fleece part and then on the knitted part all the horse’s hair and sand. Then, with the rubber brush remove the sand on the knitted part. To avoid damaging your horse’s bandages, do not use a stiff-brush.
  5. Shake again the Tacante bandages to remove the last grains of sand and horse’s hair.
  6. Fasten the Velcro scratches to protect them and the other textile equipment
  7. Wash the INFI-KNIT horses’ bandages with washing powder in the washing machine on a 30°C synthetic programme and a spin speed of up to 1400rpm.
  8. And finally, leave the exercise bandages to dry in the open air, they are as good as new!

High performance Tacante INFI-KNIT bandages are also eco-friendly

Firstly, the INFI-KNIT bandages are ideal for exercising. They are made of two layers. The layer in contact with the horse’s leg is in fleece made from Newlife® recycled polyester to ensure maximum softness and comfort. The outer layer of the bandage is knitted in a dense and hydrophobe technical structure for maximum leg support and to prevent sand accumulating while exercising.

Secondly, the Tacante exercise bandages are machine-washable on a 30°C synthetic programme with a spin speed of up to 1400rpm. Make sure you fasten the Velcro fasteners so as not to damage other textile equipment. We recommend using a soft non-toxic and biodegradable fabric detergent, certified with a European eco-label preferably, and no fabric softener. The INFI-KNIT horses’ bandages dry in the open air. Do not tumble-dry Tacante bandages as you will burn the fibres!

Finally, the Tacante INFI-KNIT bandages are made in France and measure 3 meters. If necessary, you can cut the fleece to shorten them. If you want to buy a pair of INFI-KNIT bandages, click here, and if you want to match them with your saddle pad, click here!
